MINU ISALE, or “To my father” is dedicated to Chris’ Dad, Jeffrey Pilkington. Yes, that’s him on the can.

But, it’s also dedicated to your dad! And your dad, and his dad, and their step-dad, and their dad, and their mum who acted as a dad when someone’s dad wasn’t around. Basically, this beer is for everyone who has ever been seen as a father figure, and at Tuletorn we want to thank you all for that.

The beer? It’s our take on a traditional Scottish 80 shilling ale, brewed with Golden promise, black oats, and a delicious heritage variety of rye malt (“Tvengsberg”). If you could magically turn a dad into a beer, they would be this reasonably brown, dependably reliable, and malt forward style.

It tastes of cosy autumn nights with slight toffee and red fruits, and it’s a super easy going 4.5%.

Malts: Golden promise, Tvengsberg rye, Black oats, Caramalt, Munich, Amber, Dark crystal, Brown malt

Hops: Magnum, East Kent Goldings

Yeast: WHC Bond
